Natasha & John's Wedding Day - The Captain's Club Golf & Event Center, Grand Blanc, Michigan

Natasha & John's engagement session last year was my very first session I photographed after my move to Western Michigan. We had just over a year between then and their wedding.. it was way too long of a time for me to wait and see them again, yet not long enough for me to be fully prepared for the beauty and happiness that'd come with it.

I think about how when you're touring colleges, they say you'll know as soon as you're on site if it's the right place. Translate that to a wedding vendor arriving on site to the venue, and instantaneously knowing that it's going to be a good day. I saw the beautiful bride for the first time this day from a second floor balcony and squealed. I am an open book and could not contain my joy for being back with them and able to help celebrate and capture their big day.

Bright and pastel colors contrasted with white decorated the Captain's Club and transformed it into a springtime fairytale. Natasha's dress also felt like a fairytale of its own, layers of fabric and off the shoulder sleeves with a long train, brought together by her cathedral length veil (the cherry on top). It was one of the first weekends of May, flowers were blooming, and you could smell it in the air. Each detail said "happy" in its own way. What a delight of a day it was.

It is a joy to watch two people be so in love. It is my greatest joy to photograph it.
